Rick Young

Rick was born and raised in Reading Pennsylvania. He went to Holy Name High School
and graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Psychology in 1985. He worked while taking prerequisite classes and graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT) from Temple University in 1992. Through the years he worked in many diverse settings from stroke rehab to acute care to on-site industrial rehab. He moved to North Carolina in 2001 and initially worked at Moore Regional Hospital for a year then moved to Richmond Memorial Hospital for a year and a half and then became Rehab Manager at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet for 4 years before returning to Southern Pines for two years. He then co-founded Aberdeen Physical Therapy and Wellness which opened on December 27, 2012. During his time in North Carolina, he was involved in the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association as treasurer for the Sandhills District, Director-at-Large for Practice for 6 years and ongoing with the Legislative Committee. He has now returned again for another term as Director-at-Large for Practice. Rick is one of two therapists who provide dry needling and he is certified in orofacial dry needling. He has also completed advanced studies through the Physical Therapy Board of Craniofacial and Cervical Therapeutics. |
