Bryan Collins, PT, MPT
Bryan was born and raised in Lakeview, NC. He attended Union Pines High School where he played basketball and baseball. Following high school, he went to UNC Asheville to further his education and to continue his baseball career. Following a red-shirt freshman year due to injury, he transferred to finish his undergraduate and to continue playing baseball at UNC Pembroke. Bryan majored in Exercise and Sports Science and played four years of baseball at UNC Pembroke. After his undergraduate, Bryan attended Winston Salem State University where he earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) in 2016. He attended clinical rotations in acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings.
Bryan currently lives in Southern Pines with his wife Ashley and his son Beau. He enjoys playing golf, fishing, hunting, working out, going to church, and spending time with his family.

Treated a variety of diagnoses including: neck pain, thoracic back pain, low back pain, post total hip replacement, hip pain, post total knee replacement, knee pain, post total shoulder replacement, post rotator cuff repair, shoulder pain, elbow pain, and foot pain. Performed a variety of joint mobilizations and manual therapy techniques for elbow, shoulder, hip, ankle, cervical, lumbar, and thoracic spine. Presented a research poster at 2016 NCPTA Fall Conference.
07/2016-09/2016 Trinity Grove Skilled Nursing Facility, Wilmington, NC. Performed screens on long term care residents to assess fall risk. Designed balance and proprioceptive exercises to decrease fall risk. Developed and implemented lower extremity range of motion and strengthening exercises. Evaluated and treated patients with a variety of diagnoses including: low back pain, adhesive capsulitis, post ACL repair, post rotator cuff repair, post meniscus repair, post total knee replacement. Presented an inservice project on shoulder and elbow mobilization techniques to staff at the facility. Performed shoulder, spine, and knee joint mobilizations.
03/2015-05/2015 Randolph Hospital, Asheboro, NC. Assisted clinical instructor with wound vacs and routine wound care. Provided support, instruction, and safety for patient ambulation. Monitored patients’ vital signs to ensure patient safety during treatment. Developed home exercise programs and guided patients’ with therapeutic exercise.
Volunteer at the Community Care Clinic, Winston Salem, NC. Evaluated and treated patients with diagnoses such as neck pain, low back pain, and adhesive capsulitis. Assisted with Nerve Conduction Velocity testing.
Volunteer at the MSFit Clinic, Winston Salem, NC. Designed and implemented exercise programs for patients diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

LSVT BIG is an evidence-based, amplitude focused, intensive treatment protocol for the management of symptoms related to Parkinson’s disease.
